JEONG YOON SEONG – ‘Moving Landscape’

In the latest installation at Project Space Sarubia, Jeong has inserted a wooden floor that dissects the space vertically in half.  The change in height becomes quite apparent when looking at the gallery workers who are sitting below the level of the floor.  The striped wood itself has an odd quality somewhere between a skate ramp and a bowling alley, but the real shock comes when the entire floor begins to tilt and move in short intervals. Audible mechanical sounds suggest the system is operated by some type of machinery hidden under the floor.
